Hillsborough

Located on the San Francisco Peninsula, Hillsborough lies on a stretch of Interstate 280 that has been christened by many as ‘the most beautiful freeway in the world.’ With its wooden slopes and charming rural setting, it is host to some of California’s wealthiest residents. Due to the town’s minimum lot size of a half acre, Hillsborough is known for its residential neighborhoods and single home landscape.

It is home to some of the country’s largest estates once owned by such famous residents as William Randolph Hearst and Harriet Pullman. It is a town founded on wealth and the year 2010 has it celebrating its 100th anniversary with parades, festivals and dedications. Hillsborough is big on community and preserving the natural beauty of its rich topography. Although an affluent community, Hillsborough has a small town charm. With its quiet back-to-nature atmosphere and multi-million dollar homes, it is one of the country’s most desirable places to live.
